Ohio State wins 2005 Hoosier Thanksgiving Classic |
 |
12/2/05 . Ohio State traveled to Indianapolis, IN over Thanksgiving weekend to participate in the 2005 Hoosier Thanksgiving Classic. On Friday night, Ohio State squared off with Southeast rival - #5 Liberty. Ohio State dominated Liberty the entire game. OSU's 6-goal lead was too much for the Flames, and OSU was victorious 9-5. That win placed the Buckeyes in Saturday's Championship game versus the #3 Indiana Hoosiers. After trailing 2-0 at the end of the first period, Ohio State battled back and took the lead in the third period on an Andrew Jordan one-timer off an excellent pass from Jason Brown. The Hoosiers would later tie it up to force overtime. The first overtime period resulted in a draw and therefore a second OT would be necessary. Then at 3:59 into the 2 nd overtime period, team captain Tyler Moyer netted a breakaway goal to capture the championship. |
